LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The town of Las Vegas is shifting ahead with a serious improvement in East Las Vegas.

For 30 years, the Desert Pines Golf Course has sat simply off Bonanza and Mojave within the coronary heart of East Las Vegas. Now the 95-acre web site is slated for a serious transformation – a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood, bringing greater than 1,500 houses, together with inexpensive leases and for-sale houses.

“It’s not just about the redevelopment of the golf course,” Dina Babsky, director of financial and concrete improvement for town, mentioned. “It’s truly about our smart land use, our intent to diversify housing options Ward 3 and the greater Las Vegas community.”

In keeping with McCormack Baron Salazar & City Methods, Inc., the $500 million redevelopment contains multi-family buildings, single-family houses,  townhomes, and a spread of group options. Babsky mentioned high quality, inexpensive housing is very very important in East Las Vegas.

“There’s very little land left available for our housing and redevelopment purposes,” Babsky mentioned.

The event goals to maintain present residents within the space, appeal to new residents, create good-paying union jobs, and enhance entry to companies like retail, parks and recreation, and high quality schooling, together with a brand new CSN Coaching Middle.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to… take 95 acres of city-controlled land, redevelop it into something that not only the future residents will be able to live in and enjoy but also the community around,” Babsky mentioned.

Development is predicted to start in early 2026. The mission is a part of the Desert Pines Imaginative and prescient Plan – a long-term effort to make East Las Vegas extra vibrant, accessible, and inclusive.
