DUI suspected in crash that killed 58-year-old man in west Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Impairment is suspected in a crash that killed a Las Vegas man early Sunday morning, police stated.

The collision occurred Sunday morning, round 3:30 a.m., close to Decatur Boulevard and Alta Drive in west Las Vegas. There, investigators say a sedan was touring at a excessive velocity and struck a 58-year-old man from Las Vegas who was strolling in a crosswalk. The person was pronounced useless on the scene.

After initially fleeing the scene, police stated the motive force finally returned and confirmed “several signs of impairment.” He was recognized by police as Maurice Washington, 45, of Las Vegas. Washington was arrested and faces prices associated to driving underneath the affect and hit-and-run.
