DMV studies 'experiencing points' with processing licenses after reporting "100%" reopened

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada DMV reported on social media Monday morning it is “still experiencing issues” with processing first-time Actual IDs, customary driver’s licenses/IDs, and instruction permits.

On Friday, September 5, the DMV posted on its X account that it was 100% operational and shifting its focus to serve all driver’s license and ID card appointments and walk-ins following an August 24 cyberattack that crippled state businesses.

Nevertheless, a couple of hours later, the DMV posted this replace, “At this time, we are not processing any first-time Real IDs. We are accepting: renewals for ID/DL/instruction permits, and duplicates for DL/IDs.”

As of Monday morning, it seems the DMV continues to wrestle. “We’re all working diligently to renew regular enterprise operations, the publish said.

“Most driver’s license and ID transactions can still be completed online. Use MyDMV for the quickest service,” it added.

DMV stated it’s accepting the next transactions:

Renewals for driver’s licenses, ID playing cards, and permits

Duplicates for driver’s licenses and ID
