LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Canadian vacationers flew into Harry Reid Worldwide Airport in Las Vegas on Tuesday forward of the Stanley Cup playoffs between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Canada is usually the No. 1 nation for worldwide guests in Las Vegas. Nonetheless, lately, tourism officers have reported seeing fewer Canadian vacationers because of the commerce warfare between the U.S. and Canada.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with President Donald Trump within the Oval Workplace on Tuesday to debate the continued commerce warfare between the 2 nations.

“I look forward to addressing some of those issues that we have but also finding those areas of mutual cooperation,” Carney informed reporters, saying the nations are stronger once they work collectively.

Many vacationers at Harry Reid airport Tuesday agreed with the prime minister on the message of unity, together with the dad and mom of Golden Knight Reilly Smith.

“We believe they’ll work it out, and it will be better for everyone,” stated Reilly Smith’s father, Lester Smith, informed 8 Information Now.

“We know that they’re our closest neighbor, and we want the collaborative relationship we’ve always had,” defined Smith’s mom, Deirdre Smith. “We know with our new prime minister, we’ll have that again.”

The couple stated they fly into Las Vegas each couple of weeks to see their son and grandchildren. Smith is among the unique misfits of the Golden Knights.

Whereas a majority of the Canadian vacationers who spoke with 8 Information Now agreed with the Smiths, there have been a handful who didn’t. Three vacationers, who didn’t wish to be on digital camera, informed 8 Information Now they don’t wish to purchase American merchandise anymore, amid the tensions between the nations.
