Armed man who barricaded himself in south Las Vegas valley residence taken into custody

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person armed with a gun barricaded himself inside a south Las Vegas valley residence Thursday afternoon, police mentioned.

In keeping with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division, officers responded to the 800 block of Silverado Ranch Boulevard close to Pollock Road after a report of a capturing.

Arriving officers entered a residence and located an injured man armed with a firearm. Police informed the person to drop his firearm, however he refused. Officers left the residence and deemed the incident a barricade.

SWAT and Disaster Negotiators have been on the scene.

Police ask that the general public keep away from the realm attributable to heavy police presence.
