LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas elementary faculty instructor faces a baby abuse cost after police stated he pushed a 10-year-old pupil, paperwork say.

Mateusz Baran, 47, appeared earlier than a Las Vegas Justice Courtroom Decide on Thursday. He was arrested Dec. 16 for baby abuse/neglect.

Baran was a instructor at Dawn Acres Elementary Faculty close to Stewart Avenue and twenty eighth Road.

In accordance with an arrest report, Baran pushed a 10-year-old boy to the bottom after he spilled some water. The incident reportedly precipitated the scholar to sprain his shoulder.

CCSDPD officers interviewed seven college students who stated they witnessed Baran push the kid. All of them stated Baran instructed the scholar to scrub up the water earlier than pushing him, in response to police.

Baran is scheduled to return to courtroom on April 17. He has been positioned on paid go away per the district’s negotiated settlement with the Clark County Training Affiliation.

He has been employed with the district since July 2024, in response to the Clark County Faculty District.
