President-elect Trump’s selection to guide the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) introduced on Tuesday he’s withdrawing from consideration simply three days after Trump made his nomination recognized.
Florida’s Hillsborough County Sherriff Chad Chronister stated in a publish on X Tuesday night that he would as a substitute are inclined to his present duties overseeing an space of the Sunshine State that features Tampa Bay.

Trump introduced Chronister as his selection to guide the DEA in a Fact Social publish on Saturday, tapping the native sheriff to take cost of the company tasked with seizing unlawful substances starting from fentanyl to different opioids.

Chronister’ background is generally in regulation enforcement. He graduated from the FBI Nationwide Academy’s 260th Session, was co-chair of the Regional Home Safety Job Drive for Area IV Tampa Bay and had a tenure as a council member of the Florida Lawyer Common’s Statewide Council on Human Trafficking.
His withdrawal marks the second Trump nominee to take action. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who had been tapped to be legal professional normal, withdrew his candidacy eight days after Trump shocked the political world together with his choose to run the lead regulation enforcement company.
