Orbán slams 'rigged' Biden administration in assembly with Trump

Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orbán slammed the Biden administration in his opening remarks firstly of his bilateral assembly with President Trump on Friday. 

“The reason why we are here to open a new chapter between the bilateral relation between the United States and Hungary basically because during the Democrat administration everything was rigged,” Orbán stated sitting subsequent to Trump. 

“Everything was basically broke, ruined, cancelled. A lot of harm done by the previous administration,” he continued, saying that Trump has “restored” the connection between the 2 nations. 

“You’ve improved the bilateral relationship. You repaired what was done badly by the previous administration, so now we are in quite a good position to open up a new chapter. Let’s say a golden age between the United States and Hungary,” he stated 

The criticism of the Biden administration and flattery of Trump comes as Orbán anticipates asking Trump to offer Hungary with an exemption to proceed importing Russian oil not topic to punishing U.S. sanctions.

Orbán and Trump are each conservative allies. The president notably endorsed Orbán forward of the nation’s parliamentary elections in April. Nonetheless, Orbán’s first go to comes 10 months into the second Trump administration, signaling what many have interpreted to be a snub of the Hungarian chief.
