Site visitors enforcement at Lake Mead getting further consideration Nov. 8-9, officers say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Guests are stepping into Lake Mead at no cost because the federal authorities shutdown continues, however authorities will probably be out in pressure this weekend to verify it isn’t a free-for-all on the roads.

The Nationwide Park Service, with help from the Bureau of Land Administration, will probably be stepping up site visitors regulation enforcement this weekend (Nov. 8-9) on roads at Lake Mead Nationwide Recreation Space. Officers stated it is an effort to cut back dashing, impaired driving and different harmful violations.

Bike security is getting further consideration, in response to a Friday information launch. Officers will probably be looking ahead to unsafe driving, lane-splitting violations, correct licensing and helmet compliance. Motorcyclists are reminded to trip defensively, put on applicable security gear and stay seen to different drivers.

Chief Ranger Mike Garel stated customer security is the highest precedence at Lake Mead. “This collaborative effort with the Bureau of Land Management demonstrates our commitment to ensuring everyone can enjoy the park safely,” he stated. “We’re asking all visitors to slow down, buckle up and drive like a tortoise.”

Guests are reminded to obey all posted velocity limits, keep away from distracted driving and by no means drive inebriated or medicine.
