President Trump mentioned on Monday that he would “love to meet” with North Korean chief Kim Jong Un throughout his journey to Asia this week.
“I’d love to meet with him if he’d like to meet. I got along great with Kim Jong Un. I liked him. He liked me,” Trump advised reporters aboard Air Drive One whereas en path to Japan. “If he wants to meet, I’ll be in South Korea.”
Trump added he can be prepared to increase his journey to satisfy with the North Korean chief.
Trump’s feedback come after he mentioned on Friday that he can be open to assembly with the North Korean chief, who he famously first met in 2019.
“Well, I would if he would contact. The last time I met him, I put it out over the internet that I’m coming to South Korea and if he’d like to meet, I’m open to it. I’d do it. If you want to put out the word, I’m open to it,” Trump mentioned. “They don’t have a lot of telephone service. They have a lot of nuclear weapons but not a lot of telephone service. I’m open to it.”
“He probably knows I’m coming, right? Trump later added. “Yeah, I’d be open to it, 100 percent. I got along very well with Kim Jong Un.”
Trump met with Kim throughout his first time period in an try to steer North Korea to comply with a disarming its nuclear program. Pyongyang has since carried out various intercontinental ballistic missile exams.
