LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A North Las Vegas officer saved a pet from an overdose after it by accident inhaled fentanyl.

The small pet was inside a room containing fentanyl when it inhaled the substance and started exhibiting indicators of an overdose, North Las Vegas police stated in a social media submit Tuesday.

North Las Vegas Officer Sanders then acknowledged the emergency and administered Narcan, reviving the pet earlier than it was too late.

North Las Vegas Animal Safety officers responded to the scene and took the pet to a close-by animal hospital for additional care.

North Las Vegas police stated the incident is a “powerful reminder” of the hazards of fentanyl.
