Hegseth says US will host Qatari air drive facility in Idaho

Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth mentioned Friday the U.S. will host a brand new Qatari air drive facility in Idaho, the place pilots will practice to fly F-15s. 

Hegseth mentioned the Trump administration has signed the letter greenlighting the constructing of a Qatar Emiri air drive contingent on the Mountain House Air Pressure Base positioned in southwestern Idaho. 

Qatar Emiri air drive is the air arm of Qatar’s armed forces. 

“Location will be host to a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increase lethality, interoperability,” Hegeseth mentioned Friday. “It’s just another example of our partnership.”

Mountain House Air Pressure Base, positioned in Elmore County, already hosts Singapore’s air drive F-15SG fighter jets.

Hegeseth introduced the settlement sitting alongside Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari protection minister who was on the Pentagon on Friday. 

The Protection chief mentioned the settlement showcases the power of the partnership between Qatar and the U.S. and added that Doha’s officers performed a key function in securing the Gaza peace deal.

“In the event of such an attack, the United States shall take all lawful and appropriate measures — including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military — to defend the interests of the United States and of the State of Qatar and to restore peace and stability,” the Oct. 1 order says.
