$13.9M Las Vegas development venture to kick off

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County officers are kicking off a serious venture that can enhance connectivity for 1000’s of east Las Vegas valley residents.

Commissioner Tick Segerblom, alongside the Division of Public Works, will host a groundbreaking ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to have a good time the beginning of development on the Sloan Lane Enhancements venture.

“This bridge is more than infrastructure; it builds connection and access for our community,” Segerblom stated. “This bridge and road connection will significantly increase connectivity on the east side of the Valley, connecting residents to schools and business.” 

The $13.9 million initiative will lengthen Sloan Lane with a newly paved highway and a bridge over the Las Vegas Wash, connecting Ruby Creek Drive to Vegas Valley Drive.

Enhancements embody new asphalt pavement, medians, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, storm drains, streetlights, visitors alerts, utility changes, pavement markings, and signage.

Building crews will work Monday by Friday, typically from 7 a.m. to five p.m. alongside Sloan Lane, and from 9 a.m. to three p.m. close to Sahara Avenue to reduce visitors disruption.

The venture is predicted to wrap up in Winter 2026.
