LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) – A viewer desires to know what is going on on in and across the Desert Inn tunnels underneath Las Vegas Blvd.

Tony writes:

“It’s down to two lanes there, and I’m wondering what they’re doing and how long it’ll be before they’re finished.”

Tony, it is a Clark County Public Works mission that is not solely constructing a better concrete barrier between east and westbound visitors, but additionally upgrading the lighting within the tunnel that is been principally unchanged for the reason that tunnels opened in 1996 (nearly 30 years in the past). Clark County says the brand new L-E-D panels on the edges of the tunnel will modify to match or counter the brightness – or darkness – of what is going on on outdoors.

Westbound lanes that had been broad open over the weekend from Paradise by the tunnel towards Valley View are restricted once more throughout the week similar to the eastbound lanes.

The County says the mission must be accomplished earlier than the top of the 12 months.

Tony, thanks for writing.

Buckle up, drive rigorously – and, please put down that cellphone!
