Las Vegas police seek for hit-and-run driver after man in wheelchair dies days after crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 55-year-old Las Vegas man is useless following a hit-and-run crash within the east valley, police stated.

The crash occurred on August 12, shortly after 12:30 p.m., within the 3300 block of East Tropicana Avenue, close to Pecos Highway.

The person recognized by police as Constantino Ramirez was in a wheelchair whereas touring by a car parking zone when he was struck by an unknown driver of a grey or silver SUV, in line with Las Vegas Metro police.

Ramirez was taken to a close-by hospital with severe accidents. Days later, the Clark County coroner’s workplace instructed police that regardless of all life-saving efforts by hospital employees, Ramirez was pronounced useless on Aug. 16.

The pedestrian’s demise marked the 102nd traffic-related fatality within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division’s jurisdiction in 2025.
