Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) on Tuesday slammed President Trump’s transfer to deploy the Nationwide Guard to Washington, DC, as missing “seriousness” amid the president’s push to fight crime within the nation’s capital.
“This decision is being made by people who frankly have never worn the uniform themselves,” Moore informed CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday.
“The only uniform they have worn are Brooks Brothers suits,” he continued. “And so there’s a lack of seriousness that is going to the decision making process about what you are doing and how you are impacting the lives of these men and women and their families.”
Moore invoked his personal background within the Military, arguing that he takes how the U.S. makes use of its citizen troopers “very seriously.” The governor stated there’s a price to deploying the Nationwide Guard, referring to the monetary price in addition to the sources of the guard being taken away from different conditions like pure disasters.
