North Las Vegas police shoot, kill man they are saying charged at them with knife

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — North Las Vegas law enforcement officials shot and killed a person who charged at them with a knife after they responded to a home disturbance name.

On Friday, Aug. 8, at round 1:43 p.m., officers with the North Las Vegas Police Division responded to a home disturbance within the 3100 block of Emmons Avenue, close to East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Pecos Street.

The incident was between a person and a lady who police stated had been members of the family.

Arriving officers discovered a person armed with a knife and gave him “multiple” instructions in each English and Spanish to drop the knife and give up.

Police stated the person ignored the entire instructions and refused to give up, persevering with to stroll away from the officers.

Moments later, police stated the suspect charged towards the officers with the knife, and two officers shot their firearms, hitting the person.

Medical personnel took the person to a close-by hospital, the place he succumbed to his accidents, and hospital employees pronounced him lifeless.

That is the third NLVPD officer-involved capturing in 2025. The division will launch the names of the officers concerned after 72 hours.

It is a growing story.
