LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada’s largest wildfire has grown to 82,195 acres in Elko County after becoming a member of with one other hearth on Thursday, in response to the Bureau of Land Administration (BLM).
The Jakes Fireplace merged with the smaller MP 22 hearth, the second hearth that it has mixed with since a gaggle of fires close to the city of Midas have been ignited by lightning strikes on Aug. 1. Earlier, the Jakes Fireplace swallowed the Snowstorm Fireplace because it moved to the north.
Greater than 550 individuals are at present assigned to the firefighting effort, which has achieved 35% containment of the Jakes Fireplace.
