Flash flood warning, advisory issued for components of Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nationwide Climate Service issued each a flash flood warning and a flood advisory for components of the Las Vegas valley Friday afternoon as scattered showers and thunderstorms started to hit.

In accordance with the NWS, the flash flood warning was in impact till 4:15 p.m.

Shortly after 1 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain alongside Kyle Canyon Highway, the NWS stated. Further heavy rain is anticipated within the far northwest a part of the valley.

The warning covers areas of northwestern Clark County in southern Nevada.

The flood advisory remained in impact till 4:45 p.m.

The NWS stated it coated a portion of southern Nevada, together with Clark County.
