Las Vegas teen hospitalized in scooter crash 'could have been performing stunts': police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A 16-year-old boy using a scooter was hospitalized after a collision with an SUV in Las Vegas.

It occurred on Friday at round 4:20 p.m. at East Sierra Vista Drive and South Maryland Parkway close to Desert Inn Highway.

Las Vegas Metro police stated the teenager was using down a parking zone ramp approaching Sierra Vista Drive and “may have been performing stunts as he entered the road.”

The teenager overturned and fell onto the street crossing the SUV’s path of journey.

In accordance with police, the driving force of the SUV was “unable to avoid the rider and ran the rider over.”

The teenager was taken to a close-by hospital with important accidents. The driving force of the SUV remained on the scene, cooperated with the investigation, and didn’t present indicators of impairment.

Police went on to specify that the teenager was using a non-electric razor scooter on the time of the crash.
