North Rim below evacuation orders as hearth grows close to Grand Canyon

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A compulsory evacuation for guests to the North Rim of Grand Canyon Nationwide Park was issued as a wildfire superior towards Jacob Lake, Arizona.

The White Sage Hearth, about 15 miles southeast of Fredonia, prompted the alert and a short lived closure of the realm.

The Arizona Strip from Grand Canyon Nationwide Park to the Utah Border is below evacuation orders. The west boundary of the evacuation space is the boundary of Kaibab Nationwide Forest; the east boundary is Home Rock Valley Highway/Buffalo Ranch Highway.

Freeway 89A to Fredonia is closed. Freeway 89A east towards Lees Ferry and Web page stays open.

Fredonia is about 190 miles east of Las Vegas.
