Man drowns in Colorado River making an attempt to retrieve hat

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The physique of a person who went lacking on the Colorado River on Saturday was discovered Monday.

Bullhead Metropolis (Arizona) police recognized the person as Manuel Guillermo Segura, 48, of Covina, California. Officers stated the drowning seemed to be unintended. Bullhead Metropolis is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.

Segura’s physique was discovered lower than a mile downstream from the place he was reported lacking.

Witnesses instructed police Segura swam out to retrieve a hat and didn’t resurface. He was reported lacking at about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday close to the 800 block of Riverfront Drive.

The Nevada Division of Wildlife assisted Arizona officers within the search.
