Henderson police unions declare deadlock in contract negotiations with metropolis

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Henderson police unions every declared an deadlock of their contract negotiations with the Metropolis of Henderson, in accordance with an announcement launched Monday.

Based on the assertion, the Henderson Police Officers Affiliation (HPOA) and the Henderson Police Supervisors Affiliation (HPSA) had been left with no different choice after town’s refusal to “engage in meaningful negotiations over a new contract.”

The unions stated the Metropolis of Henderson has not agreed to a single proposal made by both union, regardless of assembly with each unions repeatedly over a number of months.

“The unions believe that if the if the City truly prioritizes public safety, it will return to negotiations with a true desire to negotiate a fair wage increase which reflects the cost of living challenges and PERS retirement increases endured by these officers,” the assertion stated. “Henderson is happy to accept the accolades and awards that the dedicated officers work so hard achieve, but it is not willing to pay them commensurately. Until the City does, manpower shortages in the form of vacant positions, will continue to be the norm.”

The Metropolis of Henderson launched the next assertion in response:

“The City of Henderson values the contributions of all of its employees, including the police officers and police supervisors represented by HPOA and HPSA.  The City has been bargaining in good faith with the unions, and we have met multiple times with each union for that purpose.  Although no agreement has been reached so far, the City remains committed to the process of good faith bargaining.”
