Senate Republicans affirm Billy Lengthy as IRS chief

Senate Republicans on Thursday voted to substantiate former Rep. Billy Lengthy (R-Mo.) as the following chief of the Inside Income Service (IRS).

The GOP-led chamber voted 53-44 alongside occasion traces to put in Lengthy within the publish, with all Democrats voting in opposition to his affirmation. 

Republicans have praised Lengthy’s work within the personal sector and touted the previous congressman as an excellent advocate for small enterprise. However Democrats have raised questions on his credentials and potential conflicts of pursuits.
