Republican Danny Tarkanian broadcasts bid for Nevada legal professional common's workplace

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Republican Danny Tarkanian introduced his candidacy for Nevada legal professional common on Wednesday, becoming a member of Democrat Zach Conine within the contest to switch Aaron Ford.

Tarkanian, son of legendary UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian and civic chief Lois Tarkanian, vowed “to defend Nevada families, and bring real accountability to the Attorney General’s office,” a marketing campaign web site stated.

A potential third candidate for the workplace, Democratic State Sen. Nicole Cannizzaro, has not made an announcement.

Tarkanian has run for workplace practically a dozen instances. He’s presently a Douglas County commissioner, elected in 2020. He narrowly misplaced a U.S. Home seat to Democrat Jacky Rosen in 2016, shedding by 3,943 votes.

Tarkanian practiced regulation for seven years and based the Tarkanian Basketball Academy, a nonprofit group that works with at-risk youth.

Conine has served as Nevada State Treasurer for the previous six years. He introduced his candidacy earlier this month.

Ford has introduced his intention to problem Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo in 2026, and he’s ineligible to return as legal professional common as a result of time period limits.
