Las Vegas police bust couple in 'huge' $57M fraud scheme

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A pair allegedly defrauded traders of greater than $57 million as a part of an unique car and boat buying scheme, Las Vegas Metro police introduced Friday.

Jong Rhee, 45; and Neelufar Rhee, 34, face dozens of costs for allegedly persuading folks to put money into the luxurious gadgets, saying “the assets would be resold to overseas buyers at massive profit margins,” police stated. Nonetheless, detectives suspect no patrons ever existed.

In saying the arrests Friday, Metro police described the “fraud scheme” as “massive.”

The couple performed the alleged fraud scheme via two of their companies: Twisted Twins Motorsports and Lusso Auto Spa, police stated. State enterprise information present the Rhees are related to companies in Las Vegas and Henderson.

Each Rhees face 78 felony costs, together with racketeering, cash laundering, and forgery, information stated.

Police arrested each on Thursday and each posted $100,000 bail, information stated. They weren’t scheduled to return to court docket till June 9.
