Las Vegas police take individual with knife into custody after barricade

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police had been on the scene of a barricade involving an individual with a knife within the southeast valley.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division mentioned it began as an “incident” between two folks within the 3700 block of Gershon Courtroom, close to East Twain and South Jap avenues at round 9:30 a.m.

In the course of the incident, one of many folks pulled out a knife and threatened the opposite individual. The individual armed with the knife then went inside a residence.

Officers tried to get the individual to exit the home however had been unsuccessful, and the incident was deemed a barricade. SWAT and disaster negotiations confirmed up on the scene.

Shortly earlier than 1 p.m., police mentioned the individual was taken into custody.

Police ask that the general public keep away from the world resulting from a big police presence.
