9-year-old lady dies in Colorado River crash involving her mom, stepfather

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 9-year-old lady died days after two private watercraft collided on the Colorado River, authorities stated.

The lady was a passenger on a watercraft pushed by her mom, 28-year-old Katie Anderson of Fort Mohave, Arizona. The opposite watercraft was pushed by the lady’s stepfather, 36-year-old James Simon. The lady’s identify was not launched.

The crash was reported on Tuesday, June 17, and the lady was flown by air ambulance to a Las Vegas hospital. She grew to become “unresponsive immediately after the collision,” based on the preliminary report from the Bullhead Metropolis Police Division. The crash stays below investigation.

Bystanders within the space, close to Rotary Park in Bullhead Metropolis, tried to assist after the crash despatched everybody into the river. The lady was pulled ashore, and lifesaving efforts started earlier than paramedics arrived to take over.

The lady was initially taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Middle in Bullhead Metropolis earlier than she was transferred to Las Vegas, about 100 miles to the north.
