86-year-old Las Vegas man dies month after suspected DUI driver hit him: police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An 86-year-old Las Vegas man has died a month after a suspected DUI driver hit him, police mentioned.

The crash occurred on Feb. 28 round 2 p.m. close to East Bonanza Street and North Nellis Boulevard. Based on Las Vegas Metro police, the person was strolling outdoors of a “marked crosswalk” when a 2017 Nissan Rogue, touring east on Nellis, hit him.

The Nissan hit the left facet of the person, and he was pushed out into the roadway. Emergency personnel arrived and took the person to a close-by hospital. On March 26, the person died in hospice care.

The motive force, recognized as Dana Anderson, 62, confirmed indicators of impairment on the scene and was arrested, police mentioned. She faces a cost of DUI involving alcohol and/or a managed substance, in keeping with court docket information.

Anderson was not due in court docket till June.

The person’s dying marks the forty sixth traffic-related dying in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2025.
