LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A second teenager accused of murdering a retired police officer as a part of a lethal crime spree has agreed to a plea deal.
Jzamir Keys, 18, pleaded responsible Tuesday to second-degree homicide with use of a lethal weapon and battery with use of a lethal weapon, in line with court docket data obtained by the 8 Information Now Investigators.
The plea settlement specifies a jail time period of 18 years to life.
Keys and his co-defendant, Jesus Ayala, 20, are accused of deliberately mowing down two bicyclists, together with retired California police chief Andy Probst, 64, who died on Aug. 14, 2023.
Video is a key piece of proof within the case as two bicyclists, together with Probst, seem to have been deliberately hit in separate places within the northwest valley. The opposite bicyclist survived.
Ayala pleaded responsible to second-degree homicide, theft, and battery with using a lethal weapon final week.
