12-year-old driving electrical scooter hit, killed in east Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 12-year-old boy driving an electrical scooter was hit and killed within the east Las Vegas valley Sunday morning, in line with Metro police.

Round 10:50 a.m., Metro police responded to a report of a crash on the intersection of Tully Avenue and Hidden Desert Method close to Lamb and Bonanza boulevards.

Proof on the scene and dashcam footage confirmed {that a} 2017 Ford E350 van was driving westbound on Tully Avenue, approaching the intersection, when a 12-year-old boy driving an electrical scooter entered the intersection and crossed the van’s path, leading to a collision.

When medical personnel arrived on the scene, they decided the boy didn’t present any indicators of life, police stated. The motive force of the van remained on the scene and handed discipline sobriety exams although impairment was not suspected.

The boy’s dying marks the 119th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2025.
